Simon Bolivar
The Hotel Bolivar was named after the famous Venezuelan general, the freedom fighter who led an adventurous and fascinating life. The South American hero was a prominent figure in the eighteenth century, valorous defender of his people's independence from colonial tyranny. His victory over the Spanish troops in the summer of 1813 at Los Taguanes and his triumphant entrance in Caracas just a few months later remain legendary.
